



The epidemic is stable, continue to rescue food
From June 2009 to August 2021, the projects of "Food Sharing Project", "Food Commons @ New Territories West" and "ECF Food Commons @ Shatin" saved a total of 9,775.57 metric tons of food, 94.72% of which was edible and distributed to 8.27 million people-times enjoyed it. In the past year from September 2020 to August 2021, a total of 698.13 metric tons of food were recovered, of which 96.53% was edible, and distributed to 373,500 people-times for consumption. For many years, the Food Commons Foundation has reduced the load on landfills through practical actions to promote food recycling and sharing, creating green employment opportunities, and benefiting those in need of food support, achieving three goals with one stone.


[月餅回收呼籲]
每逢節日,香港人都鐘意送禮,特別係中秋節,數之不盡嘅月餅喺屋企堆積如山,要消滅全部月餅需時甚久,而且食得多會膩。既然勉強自己食晒啲月餅,倒不如將多餘食唔晒嘅月餅(未開封)捐出嚟,等我哋可以將月餅轉贈俾有需要嘅人士或家庭,等大家都可以好好感受中秋佳節嘅氣氛。


9月時令農作物
剛過了二十四節氣之一的「白露」,代表天氣由盛夏進入秋涼。天氣漸轉涼,會在清晨時分發現地面和葉子上有許多露珠,這是因夜晚水氣凝結在上面,所以叫白露。這時,日間暑氣未消,晚上則開始轉涼,早晚溫差漸大,人體易受乾燥之氣所困,因而可選用養肺潤燥的食物去預防秋燥,例如:南瓜、茄子、蓮藕、百合、蓮子、杏仁、梨、蘋果、桃、枇杷、桂圓、雪耳、無花果、花旗參、蜜糖等。隨著「時令」蔬菜的變化,選擇合時蔬菜的好處是,它們在最合適的時候種植和收割,所需農藥會較少,味道也較好;而由於「當造」,產量較多,價格也會較低。
