Last Friday, 10 students from The Church of Christ in China Ming Kei College, accompanied by their teacher, visited Sunshine City Wet market in Ma On Shan and participated in the food recycling campaign of the Food Commons Foundation, collecting, sorting and distributing vegetables. Along the way, the enthusiastic shop owner gave everyone sweet pastries to cheer them up, adding a touch of warmth and encouragement! Everyone returned the excess vegetables to Lee On Shopping Centre for the benefit of the elderly and neighbourhood.
Over the course of the last month, Shared Food Fund volunteers have once again shown their unselfish commitment by rushing through alleys and streets to personally deliver bulky food boxes to people in need. Each kilogramme of recycled material represents the labour and affection of the volunteers, and each serving of food contributes to the community's warmth.

Yesterday was "Summer Commences," one of the twenty-four solar terms, marking the beginning of summer and signifying the end of spring, also known as "the day when spring ends." As we enter the Summer Commences season, people's metabolism speeds up, energy consumption increases, and the strong summer heart fire can easily lead to restlessness. It is advisable to arrange for reasonable rest times, pay attention to afternoon naps, and maintain a clear and refreshed state of mind, avoiding excessive fatigue and extreme emotions.
Yesterday marked the sixth solar term of the twenty-four solar terms, 'Grain Rain', which is also the last solar term of spring. It signifies an increase in rainfall, benefiting the growth of grain crops. During the Grain Rain season, the amount of rainfall increases significantly, and temperatures start to rise, transitioning towards summer.
Food weighing up to one ton was recently donated to the Food Commons Foundation! Over 18,000 community members in need have received this batch of food, which has helped to lessen their burdens, thanks to the donors' generosity.
